Gym Time

Today I took emma to Capital Gymnastics Parent & Tot playtime. My friend Sara took her little girl Payton before & it sounded like fun. Well as I told Ryan, Emma did not like it she LOVED IT! I wish I had pictures but she never stopped moving the entire hour we were there & cried when we had to leave. I know Ryan & his family want Emma to play soccer, but I think she is going to be a dance & gymnastics little girl. I think my favorite was watching her bebop around to "rockin robin" & hop like bunny. She loved walking across the balance beam & hanging from the low bars. It took her awhile to warm up to the trampoline, but was running by the end. We ended up getting the "frequent flipper" card & cannot wait to bring her back :)

day at the zoo

My friend Sara invited us to the San Antonio Zoo last Friday with Payton, Cael, and Sara's mom. Emma loves animals and needed a day out so at the last minute I decided to forget writing my paper and go. We had a great day even though the weather looked like it was not going to cooperate. Right about the time we hit San Antonio, the sun came out & rain stopped.

We started by watching the zookeepers feed the elephants. That was quite exciting for Emma because she loves them. We then looked at a Giraffe, big cats, and many birds. We decided to feed the birds & that got interesting. I managed to have one land on my hand and bent down for Emma to see it. She enjoyed SEEING the colorful birds flying around but quickly realized they do not like being touched while eating. One reached out and pecked her. She screamed bloody murder and was no longer interested in feeding them. That incident made her very cautious when it came to feeding the goats, and she stated "I want to go home". Some poppycorn made things all better & we continued to look at alligators, more birds, fish, and bears.

I think her favorite part of the day was going to the butterfly exhibit. She sings this song at home "butterfwy, butterfwy, fly all day" while spinning around. We had to be very careful not to harm the butterflies, and she did great for the most part. There were so many types in all colors and sizes. These giant blue and brown ones would fly right over her head & she would get so excited watching them. I think she could have stayed there all day.

weekly menus

I am going to use this blog for a variety of purposes. One will be logging my weekly menus to keep track of saving $$, cooking more, & eating better. Some of my favorite blogs/websites have recipes on them.

going to sleep & dancing

We have developed some rituals to help transition emma to her naps and night night times. They usually involve reading, teeth brushing, & watching Barney. She very willingly gives night night hugs & kisses and then walks to her room. There she turns on the humidifier & her cd player all without any issues. THEN we put her in bed & she starts screaming "I dont wanna go nite nite" & jumping up an down. Its very confusing to us because she plays right along until the bitter end. Some nights the screaming stops quickly, others she throws everything out of her crib & cries for us to put it back (baby & blanket are usually victim to this).

We found out Monday that Emma is doing well in her kindertots class and may get to move up to the next level early. I am looking at tumbling class for her as well. She is such an active little girl that it is hard to keep up with her sometimes.

I am starting to investigate potty training with her but need a few days off to work on it.

I so pretty

So emma's new thing is to say "I SO PRETTY" & we think it is absolutely adorable. Of course she is the prettiest thing on the planet in our eyes. Well, I am finished with network orientation & it is onto the unit. I am very excited to have my friend Sara as a preceptor & it will be worth it to give up my weekends for it. I am a little nervous going back into the hospital, but I feel good about my decision.

I still need to blog about our disney trip before I forget all the details! We just received our photo CD, so I am going to learn how to make an album for this.
